The main coding screen has many options available to give you maximum flexibility in how you code your data.  There are options as seen on the coding screen itself, as well as those shown when you right click on specific areas of the screen.  The image below shows the sections of the coding screen.  Each section of the screen is explained in separate help pages due to the sheer volume of options to be covered, as described in the table underneath.

Codeframe panel


Displays the current codeframe.  The codeframe functions in exactly the same way for both manual and brand coding.  For more information on working with code frames, see this introductory video guide.  For an explanation of each of the elements on the codeframe panel, see this article.
Coding panelThis is where people spend most of their time when using codeit. Depending on the type of coding undertaken, you will have chosen manual or brand coding, or if verifying coder's work, you'll be using Quality Checking mode. The whole coding screen is laid out in a similar way for each, but the coding panel is different. The below links navigate you through the menu and right click options for each coding mode.
Coding settingsThere are specific coding settings you can adjust here in the coding section itself, as well as those you can adjust at company level.
Codeframe general options
Task menuAllows you to toggle between coding tasks.  

A coding task acts as a container to group together all settings and variables required for a specific piece of coding work.  Find out more about the concept of coding tasks and how to set them up.
Coding progress barEnables you to see the number and percentage of coding completed for this coding task.
ShortcutsProvides a list of keyboard shortcuts that can be used in the coding screen
ModeAllows you to toggle the screen between manual coding, brand coding and quality checking
SelectionsEnables you to select the verbatim you wish to code.
As well as being able to select coding mode and task to be coded under the 'task' tab, the selection option allows you to again access the Filter options that were available in the 'Start coding' wizard.
