What is PII?
Sometimes your data may contain respondent information that needs to be removed for GDPR or other reasons before loading to codeit. This is called Personally Identifiable Information or PII. You have the option to remove this at import, setting the replacement text within the administration company settings (default is <REMOVED>). This feature should only be used when absolutely necessary as it can remove non PII due to the nature of the removal process e.g. words that are also common surnames or addresses/cities.
Categories of PII supported
The categories of PII removed are shown in the table below.

How to use this feature
Click on the 'Remove PII' box for any question that it is required;
When "Remove PII" is enabled for a variable, any detected PII text is automatically replaced by the company setting value as defined in Admin.
For example, "My name is John" will be replaced by "My name is <REMOVED>".
