Introduction
If your survey contains multiple-languages or is conducted in language other than your native base language, you may want to specify your language settings as part of the Link Data Wizard process.
Doing so means each interview can be assigned to the relevant language when it is loaded into codeit. In turn, your data can be partitioned by language and features such as auto-translation can be applied.
Language Variable Options
The Language Variable tab offers four options as follows:
Option
| Description |
None | No language settings used - when interview data is loaded each record is assigned to the base language for your account.
|
Language Variable | Allows you to pick a closed-end question within your survey. When interview data is loaded the response given to the language question will dictate which language is assigned to that interview
|
Single Language | Allows you to pick a language from a drop-down. When interview data is loaded, all records will be assigned to the selected language |
Auto Detected | No specific language is defined. When interview data is loaded codeit will autodetect and assign a language to each interview using a best guess
