Introduction

Before you can connect codeit to a survey in your survey platform, you need to establish a data link between codeit and your survey platform. This is achieved in codeit by creating a data link.
This data link contains the necessary information required to connect to the API of your survey platform.
Creating a data link is a one-off task - once your data link is created it can be used to link to any number of surveys in the target survey system.
Note there is no limit on the number of data links you can have defined. It is often useful to have multiple data links defined, for example when you use more than one survey platform, or if your survey platform exists on multiple hosts.

Required Steps

  1. Click "Admin & Settings" in the top-right menu on the Project Dashboard:



  2. Within "Admin & Settings", click "Data Links" within the left-hand navigation menu

  3. Click the "Add New Data Link" button in the top-right of the screen


  4. Enter a name for your data link, select your survey platform in the Data Link Type dropdown, enter the relevant connection details and press the "Add Data Link" button.


    Note: When you press the "Add Data Link" button, codeit will perform a pre-emptive test against the target survey platform to verify the connection details entered.
    This test uses the connection details and attempts to retrieve a list of surveys from the target survey platform.
    If you receive an error at this stage, it is either because you have entered incorrect connection details, or because you don't have the correct credentials to list surveys.
